  • Addictionblog.org A is for Addiction. Getting educated around drug addiction/dependence is never a bad thing..
  • The Fix is a smart and contemporary take on recovery. Lots of interesting topics related to recovery, sobriety, and drugs and alcohol in general. http://www.thefix.com/
  • Dr. Gabor Maté is a physician who works with street addicts in Vancouver. His book Realm of Hungry Ghosts is a moving account of how he came to understand addiction. His view that at the core of all addiction is hunger (emotional, spiritual) has been a huge eyeopener for me. http://drgabormate.com/topic/addiction/

Unclassifiable/Awesome

  • Difficult to describe what exactly goes on here, but all of it is very interesting and smart, especially if you are a reader of books, a thinker of ideas and a lover of the arts. http://www.brainpickings.org
  • Philosopher's Mail. Newest venture by one of my favorite writer/philosophers Alain de Botten, who also runs School of Life.
  • https://www.entheos.com/ From the site: "En*theos in Greek translates to enthusiasm or God Within." I would describe the site as a clearinghouse for books and ideas around self-improvement, or how to take care of the soul. It offers Cliff Notes-like synopsis of classic and new books on personal growth, spirituality, so you don't have to embarrass yourself on the train! It also features online classes or lectures on skills like time management and how to begin and sustain a meditative practice. Not entirely free.
